Descriptions:
> A big upgrade for a proven performer
> The DX5 II is TOPPING’s new fully balanced DAC and headphone amp combo. With upgraded internals, broader connectivity, and user-focused improvements, it builds on the DX5 without reinventing the wheel. Dual ES9039Q2M DACs provide the decoding core, while an all-new X-Hybrid amplifier circuit drives your headphones, plus the updated Aurora UI and PEQ system offer precise and powerful sound tailoring.
> New dual DAC design
> Two ES9039Q2M chips handle digital conversion—one per channel. That means lower crosstalk, better imaging, and an improvement in specs: 133dB SNR, 133dB dynamic range, and distortion as low as 0.00006%.
> X-Hybrid headphone amp circuit
> The DX5 II replaces the NFCA module with an original triple-stage hybrid amp circuit. It uses a discrete input stage, op-amp gain stage, and discrete output stage. The result is high efficiency, improved thermals, and precise delivery at every volume. Power output peaks at 7600mW x2 into 16Ω—more than enough for basically any headphone.
> Balanced audio in a compact case
> With a quad-channel fully-balanced headphone amplifier, the DX5 II fits serious hardware into a small chassis. It offers 4.4mm balanced, 4-pin XLR balanced, and 6.35mm single-ended outputs.
> 10-band high-precision PEQ
> The desktop software lets you tweak 10 independent frequency bands—adjusting frequency, gain, and Q-factor. Save multiple profiles, apply different EQ to your speakers and headphones, and import and export curves.
> Aurora UI
> A 2.0" full-color screen, a pressable knob, and three buttons make for quick, clear control. Change your background color. Choose between FFT, VU meter, or playback info display. Assign the knob to control whatever you use most.
> Wireless support with LDAC
> Built around the QCC5125 chip, the DX5 II supports Bluetooth 5.1 with LDAC, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, AAC, and SBC. You get up to 96kHz/24-bit streaming without cables—useful for TV, tablet, or streaming box connections.
> USB with XMOS XU-316
> The USB input uses the XU316 interface and supports up to PCM 768kHz/32-bit and native DSD512. It works with Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. For Windows users, just install the Thesycon driver to enable ASIO mode and fine-grain control.
> Preamp mode
> You can connect active speakers or power amps directly using preamp mode. Adjust volume from the DX5 II’s front panel or remote. Each input and output remembers its volume level, so you won’t have to readjust every time you switch.
> Self-developed IV conversion
> TOPPING’s in-house current-to-voltage (I/V) stage is compact and efficient, enabling lower distortion and noise than typical reference designs. By designing their own I/V stage, they can extract more from the DAC chip without bloating the form factor.
