TOPPING D90 III Discrete
--
Descriptions:
Band new PSRM module
The D90 III Discrete features 16-phase PSRM modules for each of the left and right channels. The PSRM is a discrete 1-bit DAC. It uses an advanced architecture consisting of an ultra-fast switching logic array and a precision voltage reference, which is the core of the PSRM circuit. After rigorous testing of more than 20 device types and configurations, we selected the best combination, which not only switches at amazing speeds but also maintains the integrity of the original signal. The components are selected to minimize any disturbance to the voltage reference power supply, thus ensuring excellent performance and reliability.
The power supply design of the voltage reference is also very important and is crucial to ensure the accuracy of the analog output. Our digital logic switches switch at the nanosecond level with sharp rising and falling edges, which may generate noise that interferes with the analog signal. To solve this problem, we pioneered the design of a stable, noise-free pure resistance output power supply, which enables each DAC component to achieve extremely precise output. As a result, we can reproduce the original audio with amazing fidelity, achieving 130 dB DNR and 131 dB SNR.
Ultra low jitter
We achieved incredible jitter rejection using CPLD to process the clock signal and optimize the digital signal.
In the jitter test commonly used by current measurement websites, the D90 III Discrete has excellent jitter performance, with jitter as low as -157dB.
Brand new I/V conversion
A brand new I/V conversion circuit is designed for higher quality audio reproduction. The proprietary I-V circuit is composed of low-distortion integrated operational amplifiers and ultra-low noise discrete components carefully selected after repeated testing. This ensures that the voltage output of the PSRM remains pristine, providing ample dynamics and an immersive sound experience.
Realistic reproduction
D90 III Discrete has reached a new height in music reproduction, with THD+N <0.00006%. All the notes captured at the recording site are perfectly reproduced, and every detail of the music is carefully reproduced. Although you are not at the studio, D90 III Discrete makes you feel like being there.
Ten-Band highly precise PEQ adjustment
We develop a brand new PEQ adjustment* that supports ten customizable frequency bands. Topping's brand new PEQ algorithm and desktop software allow you to fine-tune the frequency, gain, and bandwidth of each PEQ band. The software supports the import of target and original curves as well as the compensation of curves using target curves. It can also save multiple profiles for easy switching.
*The PEQ function supports up to PCM 192kHz/32bit. And all digital input interfaces except IIS support this function.
LDAC wireless available
Equipped with QCC5125 chip, D90 III Discrete supports Bluetooth 5.1 and can support up to 96kHz/24bit. Also it fully supports LDAC/aptX-Adaptive/ aptX/aptX HD/AAC/SBC and other audio encodings, allowing high-quality audio to be transmitted wirelessly to provide a music experience beyond CD level.
Plug and play
D90 III Discrete has a wide range of compatibility and apply to various operating systems. The USB hardware is based on third generation XMOS XU316 and Thesycon driver (for Windows*, other systems without driver). It's stable and reliable. In addition, the USB input supports up to PCM768kHz/32bit and DSD512, which makes every detail vivid.
*Note: Only for Windows ASIO applications, you need to install the driver and set it up.
Choose your output mode at will
D90 III Discrete has more universal RCA single-ended outputs and more professional XLR balanced outputs. You can turn on only the output channels you need, or output both channels at the same time. Whether you are connecting two different systems or need to output two audio signals at the same time, D90 III Discrete can provide you with a more convenient and efficient output method.
In addition to the more universal XLR 4V and RCA 2V outputs, the D90 III Discrete also adds XLR 5V and RCA 2.5V.
When XLR 4V and RCA 2V are selected, more devices can be adapted. When XLR 5V and RCA 2.5V are selected, the performance will be pushed from extreme to more extreme.
IIS - Ultra-high specification signal input interface
IIS interface is not HDMI, but a customized digital audio transmission interface, which supports up to PCM768kHz/32bit&DSD512native. DAC IIS needs to match the IIS interface definition of the digital interface. The D90 III Discrete supports the following IIS modes: DSD FLAG 15, DSD FLAG 14, IIS DSDR LRCLK, IIS DSDR DATA, IIS PHASE STD, IIS PHASE REV. It is compatible with most digital interfaces*.
*Note: See label for pin definitions.
Directly connect to active speaker
In addition to the fixed output level DAC mode, the D90 III Discrete also has a "preamp" mode. In preamp mode, you can adjust the output volume of D90 III Discrete, then connect it directly to a pure amplifier or active speaker. That saves the cost of a pre-amplifier. You can also use the D90 III Discrete remote control to control the volume, which is further convenient for use.
Bluetooth remote control for more convenience
The 2.4G Bluetooth remote control is unfazed by obstacles. Enjoy flexible control from a distance, enhancing ease of use.
The best DAC choice for A90 Discrete
Pair the D90 III Discrete DAC with the A90 Discrete headphone amplifier for a fully discrete balanced setup that can drive nearly any headphone. This combination not only delivers an exceptional performance experience but also showcases the beauty of design in its aesthetic pairing.
The D90 III Discrete is equipped with 12V Trigger input and output, which support being triggered by other devices, as well as actively triggering other devices to switch on and off synchronously.
